The guide enables you to select the temperature
sensor considering its main criteria such as
its type (thermocouple, RTD probe (Resistance Temperature
Detector), thermowell, or any other -thermistance (CTN,
CTP), optical fibre (fiber optic), with or without a built-in
conditioner, the measurement range, the output signal.
For thermocouples, you can choose the weld
type (J, K, B, E, N, R, S, T), the weld configuration (grounded,
ungrounded or exposed), the accuracy class (1,2,3), the thermocouple
type (standard, for immersion, for surface measurement, for
penetration, for air flow), the thermocouple configuration
(wire, sheathed, to be glued), the sheath material (stainless
steel, glass, ceramic, plastic or Inconel for example), with
or without compensated connection, the dimensions (length,
diameter) and the shape (with or without boat tail).
For RTD probes, you can choose the type (Platinum, Nickel,
Copper, Tungsten, Gold), the resistance at 0°C (100 Ohms,
for a probe Pt100), the type of measurement (standard, for
immersion, for surface measurement, for penetration, for air
flow), bare or sheathed, the sheath material (stainless steel,
glass, ceramic, plastic or Inconel for example), the dimensions
(length, diameter) and the shape (cylindrical, rectangular,
flat to bond).
For thermowells, you can choose the dimensions
(length, diameter), the shape (straight, bend) and the protection
class.
